Welcome To The Ganges World School Kanpur
"A Promise To Discover The Genius In You"
About The School
First we designed the curriculum, then we built the school. So many school do it the other way round. They construct an attractive building and find out too late that the rooms are too small or wrongly shaped. Cramped classroom may be appropriate to old - fashioned schools, where the students too frequently sit passively in rows and listen to lectures. Modern learning demands generous spaces in which furniture can be arranged to reflect different methodologies: groups for projects works, circle for discussion and so on. The classroom which are airy give the teacher room to support, facilitate, stimulate and direct. The Campus has a big activity hall - 15,000 sq.ft. equipped with the present day gadgets.
Holistic Learning
The middle Years Programme (MYP) offers an approach to teaching and learning that embraces yet transcends the focus on traditional school subjects. While insisting upon thorough study of the various disciplines, the MYP accentuates the interrelatedness of them and so advances a holistic view of learning. This perspective asks the student to consider issues and problems in their widest scope and to realize that good solutions often draw upon insights one has acquired from many sources. This means helping students recognize relationships between school subjects and the world outside, and learn to combine relevant knowledge, experience and critical thinking to solve authentic problems.
Sports
TGWS students take part in sport for enjoyment, relaxation and exercise, as an aid to their educational development and the formation of their sense of selfworth. Coaching is available seven days a week from faculty which has outstanding practitioners of their own disciplines. In competition we model ourselves on those outstanding sporting stars who are also ladies and gentlemen. Everybody who represents Ganges World School is seen as an ambassador for the school. Activities include (but are not limited to) Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Weight Training, Track and Field, Hockey, Swimming and Diving, Table Tennis, Basket Ball etc.
Laboratories
"It is the child in man that is the source of his uniqueness and creativeness, and the playground is the optimal milieu for the unfolding of his capacities and talents" Every student is an enthusiastic scientist in the making, and they spend part of their school time in laboratory. They try to explore, probe and experiment to find the truth behind the facts of life, to solve problems, to fend off madness and chaos that result out of ignorance and preconceived notions. Laboratories are stimulating places for Science students and since our children need to, practice their hands on experiments. The Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology Laboratories at The Ganges World School cater to the needs of CBSE experiments.
